Chip’s Music

Chip has been dabbling in making music since Jo bought him a keyboard in 2000.   Once he learned how to hook it up to a computer and use sequencers, samplers and soft synths, a monster was created.

Some song samples.

Song Comments
Silhouette This song was inspired by our friends’ boat of the same name. The female vocal samples you hear are Happy Rhodes.   You should check out some of her work!
Caffeine This is a wacky, high energy song.
Enjoy the Ride This song was originally written and performed by the band Morcheeba.  They had a project where they released all their vocal tracks for an album to let musicians play with it or use it in their own projects.  Before I listened to their version, I added music to the this track.  I really like the vocalist, Judie Tzuke. It was fun to do. So all the music and arrangment, etc. is me. The vocal tracks obviously aren’t — they are Judie.
Little Drummer Boy Another traditional Christmas song. Recorded December 2011 completely on a brand new Korg M50, my birthday present to myself.
Spring Strings This song started as a piano, but it just wanted some strings instead.
Thanksgiving This is a song I wrote very early on — right around Thanksgiving.  Maybe 2001?  I just re-recorded it in 2010.
Thanksgiving (Percussion) This is the same song as above, but with some percussion.
We Three Kings This is a traditional Christmas song I fiddled with in December 2010.
